The following magnetometer parameters could be determined:

Noise of sensor and electronics
Time stability of the sensor offset
Orthogonality of the sensor triple
Scale factor, linearity and band width
Dependency of the offset from the sensor temperature
Dependency of the offset from the electronics temperature
Dependency of the scale factor from the sensor temperature
Dependency of the scale factor from the electronics temperature
Dependency of the orthogonality from the sensor temperature

Calibration og Equator-S devices

Test facilities in Berlin:
ØThree layer ferromagnetic shielded box
Thermal test chamber

Test facilities in Jeseriger Huetten:
Calibration coil system
Turn table in compensated earth field
Mechanical devices for calibration of the orthogonality
Reference magnetometers (scalar and vector reference)

Determination of Magnetic Moments
Mobile and non mobile facilities are available to determine magnetic moments. The use of gradiometers allows the measurement under disturbed conditions. The magnetic properties of small boxes could be determined with the help of a stationary gradiometer located in the Magson Lab in Berlin.
If the test bodies are large we can use a portable gradiometer to determine the magnetic properties in your Laboratory.

Accuracy of a portable boom mounted gradiometer:

distance to test body
resolution under disturbed conditions
moment of dipole
10cm 10nT 0.1mAm2
30cm 10nT 1.4mAm2
100cm 50nT 250mAm2

Stray fields up to 200Hz could be determined with an accuracy of 0.1nT.
