Magnetorquer
An autonomously working torquer system, based on direct magnetic field measurement was developed
for the Equator S spacecraft.
Four iron cored coils mounted in the plane perpendicular to the spacecraft spin axis (each 140
Am²)
and two air coils around the spin axis (each 100 Am²) comprise the main structure of the
torquer.
The system has successfully spinned up the spacecraft from 6 to 40 rpm in one
week only.
Magson has designed and produced the magnetorquer coils and has developed parts
of the software algorithm.
Magnetometer
Together with MPE and TU-BS four three component fluxgate magnetometers were
developed and manufactured.
